Anthropology, the study of humans in their many contexts, is the most holistic and diversified field within the social sciences. At Arizona State University, the study of anthropology embodies many disciplines that are not typically found actively working in tandem on most university campuses.
This approach is evident in a new program that allows students to address health challenges with a very broad and engaged global understanding. The bachelor’s degree in Global Health draws on influences such as genetic and biological factors, migration, social and economic conditions and more to equip graduates to assist in resolving health issues at the city, state and international levels.
The B.S. in Applied Mathematics for the Life and Social Sciences explores a new frontier that intersects the environmental, health, life, social, mathematical, physical and computational sciences. The program prepares students for inter- and transdisciplinary quantitative research, including developing the necessary communication skills for successful professional practice and career advancement.
At the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, there is truly something for everybody — whether you have a mind for science and math, a heart for humanities and social science, or all of the above. Here, there is no need to narrow your passions.
