Apply

In order to apply, students:

• Must have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale; and
• Must be in the process of completing 24 credit hours (sophomore status at time of program); and
• Must be in good standing with your university

*Note: Students must have a 2.0 GPA to travel abroad. Any student whose GPA is between 2.0 and 2.5, or in poor standing for any reason, are required to submit two letters of recommendation (preferably from current professors) with their application, in support of their suitability as applicants.

Study Abroad Programs – Normally, admissions to our study abroad programs is on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are required to apply online. Please visit your specific program's web page and click on the "apply" link, which will take you directly to the application. To be guaranteed a place, we recommend applying by mid-February.*

Field Schools and Internships – The application process for our field schools and internships are competitive, and it is important that students adhere to the stated deadlines. Applications are submitted either online or via paper submission. Check the program web pages for specific information about how to apply to each program.*

*Non-ASU students: We welcome students from other universities; however, there is an extra step for you in the application process. You will need to first apply to ASU as a non-degree-seeking student before you can apply to the study abroad/field school program(s).

To apply as a non-degree seeking student, go to the Nondegree Student Admission page and follow the directions. (NOTE: Do NOT apply as an "online student.") You will need to apply for the semester (ex., fall, spring, summer) that the program(s) is running. It is also important for you to choose “Tempe” campus when applying as that is the campus in which your courses are originating. It should only take a few days for you to receive your ASUrite ID and password. This is the information you will use to apply to the program.

Once you receive your login information, you can click the "Apply Now" link on the program web pages, then click the "ASUrite Login" button to start the application process.

Note: There is a fee for applying as a non-degree seeking student, so please be sure that you definitely want to participate before you commit to that non-refundable cost.

You will always be able to access your application by going to the Study Abroad Office website and clicking the ASUrite login key at the top right corner of the page. Once inside, click the link with the program country and title to access your information.

Once you have completed your initial application, you will be required to go back in and electronically sign forms, upload forms or receive information during the process.
